DGO

Deutsche Gesellschaft für Galvano- und Oberflächentechnik e. V. DGO

The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Galvano- und Oberflächentechnik DGO e.V. (DGO) was established 1961 as a non-profit and independent technical organisation. The task is to concentrate the technical and research activities within the branch of plating and surface engineering. The organisation represents at present time about 700 persons and about 150 institutions of the plating branch.

Since 2000, the DGO co-operates with the ZVO (Zentralverband Oberflächentechnik, Central Agency of Surface Technique) and represents the technical and research activities within the ZVO.

Based on activities like project work, scientific committees and co-operations with other organisations (e.g. VDI, VDA, VDMA) the DGO reaches directly about 40% of the plating companies in Germany (numbers increasing).

The objectives of the DGO are the propagation, deepening and dissemination of knowledge in the field of surface engineering. The activities are based on the work of 15 committees of specialists and 16 regional organisations. The honorary work of the various boards will be used to obtain input from sector experts and SME members and establishing links for wider co-operation and dissemination. The members of the various boards are equally representing industry (especially SME) as well as universities and research institutions.

As a member of the AiF (Arbeitsgemeinschaft industrieller Forschungsvereinigungen, German Federation of Industrial Co-operative Research Associations), the DGO initiates and accompanies research projects which are important for the innovation and future development of the industry of surface engineering.

The results of the various activities and information will be presented regularly on workshops and annual conferences. Furthermore, specific brochures about important technical results inform the companies and other.
